Light on skin, read on your phone.
Rest the phone on your palm
Rear camera and flash flat against the center of your palm, or the pad of a fingertip. Gentle contact, no pressing.
Hold still for 60 seconds
Once contact settles, the capture starts. The camera reads the small color change in your skin with every heartbeat.
Read your estimate
An approximate heart-rate estimate appears on screen. Save it to your list or let it go. Nothing leaves the phone.
Testimonials
MoniVitals set up a free screening table at the local farmers market. Neighbors stopped by for a check of their vitals in about a minute, read privately on their own phone. No needles, no cuffs, no sign-up.

Photos from the community screening day. The screening used the MoniVitals app on visitors’ own phones. See the project board.
Questions
More on the support page.
Palm or fingertip, which should I use?
Either works. Rest the rear camera and flash against the center of your palm, or against the pad of a fingertip. Pick whichever gives steady, comfortable contact.
Do I need any extra gear or an account?
No. No wearable, no attachment, and no sign-up. The app works fully without an account; an optional free account only backs up your saved list.
Is any face or personal data used?
No. There is no face scan and no personal information required. The camera only reads light changes at your skin while you measure.
How does it work?
Photoplethysmography. The flash lights your skin and the camera picks up the small color changes caused by each heartbeat, which are processed on your device into an approximate heart-rate estimate.
Why did the timer restart?
The timer starts after contact settles and resets if contact is lost or frames pause. Keep the camera and flash covered gently, without pressing hard.
Is MoniVitals a medical device?
No. It is for everyday general wellness and curiosity. The value is an approximate estimate and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, prevent, or monitor any condition.
